Terms of Service

By accessing or using Bihar Shaadi ("Service"), operated by Cognitive Squad Pvt. Ltd., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and premium subscribers, across our mobile applications (Android & iOS) and website.

To use Bihar Shaadi, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old (for women) or 21 years old (for men) as per Indian marriage laws
• Be legally capable of entering into a binding contract
• Be legally competent to marry as per the laws of India
• Not be currently married (or be legally divorced/widowed)
• Use the Service for the genuine purpose of finding a life partner
• Provide accurate and truthful information during registration

By registering, you confirm that you meet all these eligibility requirements. Providing false information about your eligibility is grounds for immediate account termination.

All decisions regarding marriage are solely between the users and their families. Bihar Shaadi acts only as a technology platform to facilitate introductions.

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Not share your account or login with others
• Update your information to keep it current
• Not create multiple accounts or accounts for others without consent
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree NOT to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information about yourself
• Impersonate another person or use someone else's photos
• Harass, abuse, stalk, or threaten other users
• Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Upload inappropriate, offensive, obscene, or defamatory content
• Collect information about other users without their consent
• Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Attempt to bypass security measures or hack the platform
• Promote other commercial services or competing platforms

User Due Diligence: You are responsible for independently verifying all information about potential matches before making any decisions. We strongly recommend meeting in public places, involving family members, and conducting your own background checks before proceeding with marriage discussions.

By creating a profile, you:

• Grant us a license to display your profile content to other users for matchmaking
• Confirm that photos are recent, genuinely yours, and not misleading
• Agree not to upload photos containing nudity, violence, or copyrighted material
• Understand that we may remove content that violates our guidelines
• Retain ownership of your content and can delete it by deleting your account

Subscription Plans:

• Pro Lite Annual: 1-year subscription with enhanced matching features
• Pro Annual: 1-year subscription with all premium features including spotlights and contact views

General Payment Terms:

• Free registration allows limited access; premium features require subscription
• Subscription fees are charged in Indian Rupees (INR) or equivalent local currency
• Payments are processed securely through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
• Subscription benefits are personal and non-transferable
• We are not responsible for fees charged by your bank, Apple, or Google
• Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice

How to Cancel:

• iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Bihar Shaadi → Cancel
• Android: Google Play Store → Account → Subscriptions → Bihar Shaadi → Cancel

For App Store/Play Store Purchases:

• Apple: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support
• Google: Request refund via Google Play Store → Account → Order History

For Web/Razorpay Purchases: Refunds may be considered in limited circumstances:

• Request within 7 days of purchase AND no premium features used
• Technical error or duplicate charge on our part
• Exceptional circumstances at our sole discretion

To request a refund for web purchases, email contact@cognitivesquad.com with your registered phone number and payment details.

We take safety seriously. If you encounter any of the following, report immediately:

• Fake profiles or impersonation
• Harassment, threats, or abusive behavior
• Requests for money or financial fraud attempts
• Inappropriate or offensive content
• Married individuals posing as unmarried
• Any illegal activity

We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action, including account termination and reporting to authorities where necessary.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Provide false or misleading information
• Receive multiple reports from other users
• Attempt to circumvent our security or policies

You may delete your account at any time through app settings. No refunds will be provided for early termination due to violations.

We are NOT liable for:

• Actions, behavior, or conduct of any user (online or offline)
• Accuracy, completeness, or truthfulness of user-provided information
• Any damages, losses, or harm resulting from interactions with other users
• Failed marriages, relationships, or matches
• Financial losses due to fraud by other users
• Loss of data or unauthorized access to your account
• Service interruptions or technical issues

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our maximum liability is limited to the subscription amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bihar Shaadi, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Patna, Bihar, India.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app, email, or website notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
